Jason Asano's lemonade

Jason Asano's lemonade recipe from "He Who Fights with Monsters - Book 4" by Shirtaloon
 
Ingredients
  • 6 lemons
  • 1.25 cups of sugar
  • 5 cups of water
Equipment
  • Cooking pot
  • Lemon strainer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Lemon peeler
Steps
  1. Wash lemons - If lemons feel waxy scrub lemons under hot water
  2. Peel zest with a lemon peeler you want the yellow zest but don’t get too worried about getting too much of the white
  3. Put peeled lemons aside
  4. Cover lemon zest with sugar in a mixing bowl and mix.  Cover with plastic wrap and leave for at least two hours but as long as overnight
  5. Bring 5 cups of water to boil in a pot on high heat
  6. Turn off the heat and pour in the lemon sugar mixture including the peels
  7. Stir and then leave as sugars dissolve which should be about 5 minutes
  8. Strain liquid into mixing bowl and let cool until room temp 30 minutes
  9. Cut the lemons in half and squeeze them into the bowl through the mesh strainer
  10. Chill the lemonade for a couple of hours
  11. Pour chilled lemonade over ice

Cypress Half Marathon November 09 2025

I ran the Cypress Half Marathon on Sunday November 09 2025.  Stayed the night at Mom and Dad's house.  While training for this event I was running on October 16 and I tripped and sprained my ankle.  It was the worst sprain I can remember.  I did not run for nearly a week after this as I as nursed the ankle in an ice bucket and took ibuprofen to help with the swelling and pain.  That really impacted my training as I could not start training until after I came back from Norway on September 17th which was 7 weeks out from the date of the race. Also I had signed up to run the Sugarland half on Sunday October 12, 2025 but we had planned to visit Saagar for his birthday so we were out in SFO for that weekend.  It was probably for the best as that would have been only 4 weeks to train.  I was able to do the Marina run club with Saagar and get a 6 mile run in that weekend.  After coming back that week I was expecting to train hard straight up to the ...
