Ramesh Pateder June 1, 1941 (kind of 10/14/1942) - May 5, 2026

Ramesh "Ray" Pateder June 1, 1941 – May 5, 2026 Kunjarao, Gujarat, India • Cypress, Texas Ramesh "Ray" Pateder, 84, of Cypress, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He lived a life defined by courage, curiosity, and an unshakable belief in what was possible. https://hhhcrewchief.github.io/RameshPateder/#1 Born and raised in the small village of Kunjarao, Gujarat, India, Ray came of age with dreams that reached well beyond what the world around him offered. In 1962, with a suit on his back and a garland of flowers around his neck, he boarded a plane for the United States — leaving everything familiar to begin his studies in Rolla, Missouri. The journey from rural India to the American Midwest might as well have been a journey to another planet, but he embraced every part of it. Ray's professional career began in Cleveland, Ohio, with Sherwin-Williams, where he refined the technical expertise that would define...

Cypress Half Marathon November 09 2025

I ran the Cypress Half Marathon on Sunday November 09 2025.  Stayed the night at Mom and Dad's house.  While training for this event I was running on October 16 and I tripped and sprained my ankle.  It was the worst sprain I can remember.  I did not run for nearly a week after this as I as nursed the ankle in an ice bucket and took ibuprofen to help with the swelling and pain.  That really impacted my training as I could not start training until after I came back from Norway on September 17th which was 7 weeks out from the date of the race. Also I had signed up to run the Sugarland half on Sunday October 12, 2025 but we had planned to visit Saagar for his birthday so we were out in SFO for that weekend.  It was probably for the best as that would have been only 4 weeks to train.  I was able to do the Marina run club with Saagar and get a 6 mile run in that weekend.  After coming back that week I was expecting to train hard straight up to the ...

Mike Elko and his culture, "We have to stay consistent. We can’t relax."

Read a great article about Mike Elko the HC of Texas A&M.  The article published in Washington Post on 11/7/2025 brings out some points about Elko building a culture at Texas A&M Football.   We  have to stay consistent.  We  can’t relax .  They don’t know what it’s going to take to go all the way.  We can’t ever relax. Let’s have a really great Thursday. That’s all I got.” The meeting lasts 6 minutes 40 seconds. No small talk, applause or fluff. Just the scrape of chairs as everyone files out. When Elko held his first team meeting as coach, 22 players showed up late. They weren’t allowed in. Another player was suspended after arriving three minutes late to a team meeting. He had gotten stuck behind a freight train. Elko didn’t care. And if that meant the Aggies lost the game, so be it. “Culture will always win,” he says. “The kids saw me do that and not even flinch. It just laid out a very clear picture of, ‘Okay, he’s serious.’” He ...

Frankenstein: Modern Prometheus September 5

Frankenstein’s admonishment to the crew of the ship when they mutinied to return to England. Turning towards the men, he said, ‘What do you mean? What do you demand of your captain? Are you, then, so easily turned from your design? Did you not call this a glorious expedition? And wherefore was it glorious? Not because the way was smooth and placid as a southern sea, but because it was full of dangers and terror, because at every new incident your fortitude was to be called forth and your courage exhibited, because danger and death surrounded it, and these you were to brave and overcome. For this was it a glorious, for this was it an honourable undertaking. You were hereafter to be hailed as the benefactors of your species, your names adored as belonging to brave men who encountered death for honour and the benefit of mankind. And now, behold, with the first imagination of danger, or, if you will, the first mighty and terrific trial of your courage, you shrink away and are content...

Eddie Vedder still rockin' it and staying true

Oh, it's a mystery to me We have a greed, with which we have agreed And you think you have to want more than you need Until you have it all you won't be free Society, you're a crazy breed I hope you're not lonely without me When you want more than you have You think you need And when you think more than you want Your thoughts begin to bleed I think I need to find a bigger place 'Cause when you have more than you think You need more space Society, you're a crazy breed I hope you're not lonely without me Society, crazy indeed I hope you're not lonely without me There's those thinking, more or less, less is more But if less is more, how you keeping score?
